Does ATARMax store my marks on a server?

No. ATARMax runs entirely in your browser. Your marks and settings are saved locally on your device, not uploaded to a backend server.

How do I import my BSSS results?

Open the Results tab in Student Profiles, set the Assessment Period to this year, select all (Cmd/Ctrl+A), copy, and paste into ATARMax using Import marks.

Summary

ATARMax is a browser-based ATAR estimator for ACT BSSS results. We designed it so your academic data stays on your device. We do not operate user accounts, analytics pipelines, or servers that receive your marks.

What we collect

Nothing is sent to us. When you use ATARMax, the app processes your inputs locally in your web browser. We do not collect names, email addresses, student IDs, marks, or any other personal information on our systems because there is no backend that receives that data.

Local browser cache

To save you from re-entering data every time you visit, ATARMax may store a copy of your workspace in your browser's local storage (via the app's built-in persistence layer). This cache can include:

Your selected college
Imported or entered subject and assessment data
Theme preference and onboarding progress
Saved scenarios, if you create them

This information never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (for example, downloading a JSON backup from the data menu). It is not synced across devices and is not accessible to us or to other websites.

How to clear your data

You can remove cached data at any time by:

Using Reset all in the app data menu
Clearing site data or local storage for this website in your browser settings
Using a private/incognito window (nothing persists after you close it)

Hosting and third parties

If you access ATARMax over the internet, your browser downloads the application files from our hosting provider (standard web delivery). That process is the same as visiting any static website and does not include transmission of your marks or personal academic records.

We do not embed third-party advertising trackers or sell data to third parties. Fonts may be loaded from Google Fonts when you use the app; that is governed by Google's policies for font delivery.

Estimates are not official

ATARMax produces estimates based on published scaling tables and the information you provide. Results are for planning purposes only and are not issued or endorsed by the ACT BSSS, your college, or any certification body.

Children and students

The app is intended for students estimating ATAR outcomes. Because no personal data is transmitted to us, we do not maintain student records on our servers. Parents and students remain in control of what is stored locally on the device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app's behaviour changes (for example, if server-side features are added in the future). Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
